NO APOLOGY, NO CONTRIBUTION

The lastest (12/3/2007) meeting video is up on YOUTUBE. For everyones info: I am getting better used to YOUTUBE so you will see that the meetings and the video clips are now in tidy buckets (playlists). The village UNANIMOUSLY approved putting audio of meetings on the official website. I appreciate the baby steps, but they will find that it really takes no more work to do video. So, go ahead and play your games.....

I was hoping to see someone step up and do the right thing and apologize for the insensitive comment heard during the discussion (11/5/2007) on the Hispanic female that was injured due to slipping at the RecPlex Pool.

I personally don't believe its likely that the village is liable for the injury. Signs appear to be posted, and it only makes sense NOT to walk on slippery tiles when they are wet, BUT AGAIN its how things are handled that leave a lot to be desired.

A BIG "NO COMPRENDE" to the new financial guru of the Village Board -- Trustee Clyde "On Whose Side?" Allen. By the way, this is the same financial guru who didn't think the Trustee Serpe quoted $105,000 estimate for videotaping meetings was enough so he raised it to $175,000! Not one peep as to why this new figure was justified.

The slipping injury incident could have made this go away by a simple apology, but this is an example of the sin (although dis-tasteful) being less wrong than the lack of atonement, remorse, and even more the OFFICIAL cover-up.

Village Administrator Mike Pollocoff did the usual 'song and dance' about what belongs in MINUTES and what doesn't. If he followed his own rules then perhaps things would be fine, BUT the rule is applied whenever it suits THEIR political needs.

The RULE you ask: According to Mr. Pollocoff, Robert's Rules of Order is the protocol of the day, and MINUTES will ONLY reflect meeting content that was recognized by Robert's. This implies that anything not recognized by the chair is forbidden from appearing in the minutes and likewise implies that anything recognized by the chair should be documented precisely. HMMM? Only time will tell if in fact these "rules" are being applied as stated.

The Board has it easy. They have the hired hand Pollocoff doing all their political dirty work, and THEY can appear to 'rise above it all'. This applies to research, action, and also to direct and visible activity at board meetings. Blind following doesn't take much work either. Must be nice!

When is the last time the BOARD disagreed with him?? Hmmm?

Yes, Mr. P had a nice try on CYA on Meeting Minutes. Read old ones and you'll see many examples where this wasn't followed. Nice excuse when something controversial happens. Exactly why video and audio together is needed.

Mike, you follow Alex like a lemming.

So it's bad to follow someone like a lemming? Perhaps that advice should be directed at the podium at village hall?

Dick, who do you think really runs the Village? You see any of the Trustees put anything forth? LEt's put it out in the open instead of behind closed doors.

I was born & raised in Kenosha. I'm lucky enough to live in Pleasant Prairie. What the *#@! is this website and all this youtube nonsense all about? POLITICS??? For God's sake people, start counting the blessings in your life, it's too short. Mr.Tianhnybok, if you hate it here so much, why did you move here? This little group you've formed is actually kind of frightening. Do you have secret meetings? Why aren't your meetings televised? You're an embarrassement to this community. If people want to know the TRUTH about Pleasant Prairie. go to pleasantprairieonline.com---you'll find FACTS listed, not stories. Maybe you should tell people why magazines like USNEWS, and MONEY have given our Village the thumbs up. If it's such an awful place, why do you so desperately want to sit on it's board??? (and I'm quite serious about you televising your meetings on youtube)_

Comment originally posted by blog owner and since deleted on 12/3/07 in response to another comment:

"This is politics, get used to it. If you want to play with the big dogs, you have to get off the porch".

What exactly did you mean by that and why did you delete it?

"A person of limited qualifications who goes out of his way to gain the attention of various media outlets; a person who has a psychological need to get into TV, radio or print." Sure sounds like Alex to me. That my friends is the definition of a media whore.

Why all the hatred folks? The video taping was done so that people who choose not or cannot attend meetings for whatever reason can see their government in action.
It would be nice to know if anonymous is all the same person, because if you really don't like what is going on at this or any other blog, why do you bother chiming in?
The village needs to be dragged into the 21st Century. Being able to see meetings on your cable access channel is nothing that progressive -- in fact its pretty normal. The arguments about technical difficulty and expense have been put to bed, and its simply that OUR government continues to resist letting people in on things.
As I promised, I have no intention to delete anything posted on this blog and will continue to let you spew your venom. Continue attacking if that's the BEST you can do.

TRUTH about Pleasant Prairie? The Truth, CHIPS, KOPS. Who was behind those? We all know. Talk about misinformation. Village website for facts? Whose facts? Does the Village ever say oops, we did something wrong, like referendums? Gee, we are fixing the condemned site and it won't cost taxpayers any money; but why did we let it get that way in the first place? No Comprehende, Clyde.

""This little group you've formed is actually kind of frightening. Do you have secret meetings? "" From the mind of one of the CHIPS, KOPS, and The Truth webmongers.

This is the pot calling the kettle black.

One one hand you have an entrenched incestuous group taking care of eachother with their faithful minions at their beck and call.

One the other hand you have a bunch of disgruntled citizens who have had enough.

And the incestuous group is calling the disgruntled citizens "a little group with secret meetings"?

Dr. Phil: "Get real!"

Looks like the board disagree with mr. p. monday night.

he has spoken in favor of changing the way that local property taxes are calculated. He has said that property taxes should not be based upon a property's value but he would prefer a head tax, where a household would be taxed based upon the number of occupants living there. That, if passed, would have the effect of sharply reducing his own property taxes for his home valued at well over one million dollars on Lakeshore Drive while raising everyone else's taxes in order to make up the difference.

This is something I remember quite clearly from the last election. It really sat wrong with me, and still does. I remember hearing a recording of it, too.

A recording of what? The meeting minutes are the official record so whatever you listened to was probably a fake. If you want to speak about low property taxes, just look at your Village President and what he pays. Think he was paying fair share for the land he sold to Abbott? What a joke.
