Heard this on WLIP this morning.
Apparently beet juice is being used as an additive in a concoction of aqueous sodium chloride and calcium chloride. This "BORSCHT" apparently drops the eutectic point below standard ice melt mixtures.
I truly expect John Steinbrink Jr (Village Superintendent of Streets) and Dick Ginkowski (Asst DA Kenosha to use his RAG platform of constant criticism of Kenosha Snow Ops -- Ron Bursek?) to study this further.
Another benefit of this might be more Borscht being served in Kenosha if surpluses occur. Try it!

The "Reel" source of Alex's derangement...listening to Lenny Palmer.
Ya! Let's get Lenny involved in Village politics. Then you can sue him too!
It's just a matter of time when crooks like Allan Kehl get linked back to the Tub of Goo.
I love borscht.

In the 2/18/2008 meeting, Mr. Mikhail Pollocoff made some mention of using beet juice in snow control.
Kind of confused as to whether we use it or not, but if we do, from my grandmothers cookbook, I believe it works well with salt, and vegetables, but not so good with sand.
